A Week of Reunions

We went back to Rexburg for a week to see my brother who was on leave from the army and to go to the Romney and Nissen reunions.  It was a busy week, but we had so much fun!!!

Look at all these crazy squirrels we saw at a rest stop on the way home. They were everywhere. I didn’t even get half of them on camera. They came right up to our feet.

This is my crazy husband about to go down the slide on his stomach, head first. I was worried about him hurting his back or scraping up his belly. Sorry I am yelling kind of loud. You might have to turn the volume down on this one. I just couldn’t resist putting on though and you will see why when he finally goes down. It is hilarious.

Fine Swine Wish He Was Mine…

Last night we had such an interesting experience. It was almost funny, almost surreal. We decided to go to a show in the park: Valentine’s Performing Pigs. We met Lydia and the kids there and stood among the masses of  people who had come to see the pigs doing tricks.

We could barely see the pigs as they did their little tricks and soon it started to rain. It was pouring by the end of the show. The funny announcer lady( she must have been Mrs. Valentine) said that the kids could come up and pet “oinky,” one of the pigs. So I hurried up to the front with Amberlee and Autumn and about two minutes later the announcer lady said “Its raining to hard. We are putting the pig back in the van.” The whole thing was hilarious. There we were standing in the pouring rain to see a few pigs ride on skateboards and push buttons and pop balloons. We were all soaking wet and the girls were quite disappointed they didn’t get to pet the pig. Quite a funny site. We went back to Lydia’s for hot chocolate.

Home Sweet Home

Here are a few pics of the trailer we will be living in until August. We came to Moscow not really knowing where we were going to live, so we were really excited that this worked out. It is perfect! It is furnished, with a washer and dryer. The people that are renting it are even letting us use their dishes. We are grateful everything worked out!

Moscow

We moved! We moved last week from Rexburg to Moscow, Idaho. We are here for the summer while Benjamin does a research internship. It is a pretty long drive. We took our little niece Amberlee from Rexburg (she was visiting her grandparents) back to her home in Moscow. She was so good.

We stayed with Benjamin’s sister Lydia for a few days until we got things settled with our new home. Lyd showed us around Moscow. It is so pretty and warm here!

I took the girls on a nature walk. We took pictures of every kind of flower we saw along the way. They collected little treasures in their baskets.

P5120173

We found a little trail that cuts through a bunch of trees, giving the illusion of being in a forest. Uof I is just down the slope, but it feel likes you are up in the mountains.

P5120176

There were loads of white and purple wild flowers in the little woods we found.

We have settled into the place we are renting for the summer. We like it. Benjamin is enjoying his research. And I have enjoyed Lydia, Abmerlee, Autumn, and Seth’s company.

Lila Lou

We had so much fun watching our niece Lila for a couple of days before we moved. She is such a sweet, happy baby.

Helicopter

My parents in-law know someone who owns a helicopter. He was taking people on rides and they invited us to come along. It was so much fun! Thanks for letting us come along for the ride!

Its a Celebration

To celebrate the end of the semester my two sisters in the law (Beth and Kylie)  and I got pedicures together. It was so much fun! Then Kylie and Anthony and Benjamin and I all went out to lunch to continue the celebration. We missed you Beth and Jon! P4070106

My other sister in law, Chelsea, made me and Kylie these cute head bands for late birthday presents. They are so cute. I think I wore mine every day last week. Thanks Chelsea!

My sister Emily and I were being silly and playing with the camera. We took tons of silly pictures, but they are too embarrassing to post.

We were smiling for a group picture and right at the same time, Joseph and Emily turned and looked right at me. Joe looks kind of scary!

Benjamin and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary on the 12th! In memory of our honeymoon, where we first tried sushi, we went to Da Pineapple Grill for some sushi.

P4070113

Benjamin got the Spider Roll II with eel and shrimp inside and tiny little tobiko fish eggs all over the outside.  It was so yummy!

P4070117

I can’t remember what mine was called, but it was really good too! I know it had spicy crab, shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese inside. The roll was fried tempura with mango, citrus sauce, crunchy wontons, and seared tuna on top. It was very flavorful. I loved it. The only problem was that I it had mostly raw tuna on top. I usually just get sushi that is fully cooked, but this time I decided to try it with the raw tuna on top. It tasted great and was very flavorful. It didn’t taste fishy at all, but I just couldn’t  put it in my mouth with a big slice of pink fish looking up at me and  knowing it was raw. I had to psych myself out before each bite, but when I actually got it in my mouth, I couldn’t even tell I was eating raw fish. It all just blended together.

We got an amazing huckleberry white chocolate macadamia cheesecake at the end, but I didn’t get a picture.
