Franklin Park Conservatory

In April, Benjamin and I decided to take a walk through the Franklin Park Conservatory. I was right in the middle of mono, and I was probably a fool to go on this walk, but I just had to get out of the house. I had been laying on the couch for two weeks straight and I was getting cabin fever. So I just took it real easy and sat down a lot. And then I crashed for hours. That was the only time I got off the couch in the whole three weeks I was out of work, and it was nice to get some fresh air, even for a short while.

The Franklin Park Conservatory is a big greenhouse-like building full of different gardens, wildlife, and art. It is surrounded by a huge beautiful park. The whole thing is stunning. I recommend it to everyone and anyone. Especially during the spring and summer months, because there is a butterfly exhibit going on at that time. They let loose a ton of butterflies every day into this huge tropical garden and they fly all around you as you walk through.

You can even see them hatching from their cocoons before being released into the garden.

This huge one just hatched from it’s cocoon. It was bigger than my palm and fingers all spread out!

Here are some of the butterflies we saw. They are from all over the world and are very exotic. (I love our new camera! It takes awesome videos!) Sorry the video’s are so loud. There is a waterfall roaring in the back ground.

I really was having fun, even though I don’t look like it. I would walk around a room and see everything and then find a bench while Benj took his pictures. It worked out nicely. I’m just glad there were lots of benches.
