We had so much fun watching our niece Lila for a couple of days before we moved. She is such a sweet, happy baby.

Helicopter

My parents in-law know someone who owns a helicopter. He was taking people on rides and they invited us to come along. It was so much fun! Thanks for letting us come along for the ride!

Ben mows the pasture grass into fun designs. On foot it is like a labyrinth, but from the air it looks like crop circles!

Beth and Jonathon came too.

Its a Celebration

To celebrate the end of the semester my two sisters in the law (Beth and Kylie)  and I got pedicures together. It was so much fun! Then Kylie and Anthony and Benjamin and I all went out to lunch to continue the celebration. We missed you Beth and Jon! P4070106

My other sister in law, Chelsea, made me and Kylie these cute head bands for late birthday presents. They are so cute. I think I wore mine every day last week. Thanks Chelsea!

My sister Emily and I were being silly and playing with the camera. We took tons of silly pictures, but they are too embarrassing to post.

We were smiling for a group picture and right at the same time, Joseph and Emily turned and looked right at me. Joe looks kind of scary!

Benjamin and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary on the 12th! In memory of our honeymoon, where we first tried sushi, we went to Da Pineapple Grill for some sushi.

P4070113

Benjamin got the Spider Roll II with eel and shrimp inside and tiny little tobiko fish eggs all over the outside.  It was so yummy!

P4070117

I can’t remember what mine was called, but it was really good too! I know it had spicy crab, shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese inside. The roll was fried tempura with mango, citrus sauce, crunchy wontons, and seared tuna on top. It was very flavorful. I loved it. The only problem was that I it had mostly raw tuna on top. I usually just get sushi that is fully cooked, but this time I decided to try it with the raw tuna on top. It tasted great and was very flavorful. It didn’t taste fishy at all, but I just couldn’t  put it in my mouth with a big slice of pink fish looking up at me and  knowing it was raw. I had to psych myself out before each bite, but when I actually got it in my mouth, I couldn’t even tell I was eating raw fish. It all just blended together.

We got an amazing huckleberry white chocolate macadamia cheesecake at the end, but I didn’t get a picture.

Our Baby

We were sitting in church watching all the little kids run around, and started to wonder what our kids will look like someday. I kept trying to picture the little boys with Benjamin’s hair. When we got home, we decided to get onto one of those websites where you can upload pictures of two people and they create a baby based on the two pictures. We chose two pictures of our faces and waited for our baby to be born. Here was the baby it came up with….

black baby Isn’t that so funny? I don’t know how they got that baby out of those two pictures. I have always wanted to adopt a kid someday; maybe its a sign…:) :) :)

School Update

I just thought I would post an update on our schooling. We have about 4 weeks left in this semester.

Amy is taking:

  • Advanced Writing and Critical Reading
  • Reading in the Content Area
  • Parenting
  • Health Methods
  • Children’s Literature

Benjamin is taking:

  • Kinesiology
  • Biochemistry
  • Motor Development
  • A music class (i can’t remember which one)
  • Sports Nutrition

This is my last semester of classes and in the Fall I will student teach at a local high school.

Benjamin is tutoring General Chemistry this semester, playing in the pit orchestra of school musical Children of Eden, serving as vice-president of the Pre-Med Society, teaching guitar and bass lessons, and playing in the the Rexburg Orchestra. He is taking the MCAT in May and applying for Med school early this summer. He has one semester left and possibly and internship.

Here are a few pictures of us this semester:

Sledding

Benjamin and I took Emily and Joe sledding at Sugar Hill. It was fun. When we were finished, Emily and I played in the snow for about another hour. Here are some pictures of the day:

Emily and I hiked down to the Willows at my parent’s house. Quite a work out.

There were animal tracks all over down in the Willows. Emily and I took pictures of a lot of them. We made this one and took a picture of it to try and trick my brother Joe, but he didn’t fall for it.

But we almost got him to believe that this one was a Pterodactyl track.

Alfalfa

A few weeks ago Benjamin and I went to a ward dance. The theme was famous couples in history. Benjamin and I have always been awful at coming up with costumes. We usually don’t dress up or find something at the very last minutes that ends up being kind of lame. This party was no exception. We had lots of ideas but we kept finding one persons costume, but not the other. For example,we found a Princess Lea costume for me, but couldn’t find a Han solo costume for him. We were almost Joseph and Emma Smith, but I couldn’t get my hair to do the ringlet thing. So we settled on Alfalfa and Darla, which was kind of pathetic because my hair would not curl that day and Benjamin had just barely cut his hair, making it to short to stick up. We made it stick up a little bit, but you can’t see it in these pictures. He looks kind of scary, but you should see him try to sing like Alfalfa.
